Interpreters
Simultaneous vs Consecutive Interpretation
Simultaneous Interpreters are highly intelligent and skilled individuals. They can listen and talk at the same time while interpreting from one language to another.
With Simultaneous Interpretation (SI) there is no delay. Consecutive Interpretation involves listening to a few sentences and then interpreting into a second language. Using Simultaneous Interpretation saves time by removing unnecessary delays that disrupt the flow of an event. Why choose Simultaneous over Consecutive? During meetings and conferences, multiple languages add another level of complexity to the event. Delegate engagement is a top priority to grow and retain audiences, as well as ensure the discussions and messages are comprehended and absorbed. Simultaneous Interpretation engages delegates by keeping them focused on the speaker and immersed in the environment. SI ensures no delay during the speeches and presentations, guaranteeing comprehension of the speaker as if the user was listening to them in their native language. |
Translators vs Interpreters
What is the difference between interpretation and translation? Interpretation and translation are terms that are easily confused and often interchanged as they are intertwined within the linguistics discipline. The difference between interpretation and translation is the medium. Interpreters translate verbally, while translators translate text from one language to another.
The importance of differentiating interpretation and translation is apparent in the deliverable differences. Imagine receiving a written document instead of an interpreter for a live event.

As leaders within our industry, we care about the small details. Our ISO-4043 booths, with built-in tables, individual interpreter consoles (not shared), lights, power ports for laptops, even a coat hanger for interpreter’s jackets - the "small details" matter to us.
Our Interpretation Booths are sturdy, safe, soundproof, have excellent ventilation and a wide view of the audience or vision screen. On the compliance side, we are the only providers in Indonesia that meet international regulatory standards for soundproofing, ventilation and ISO 20109 “Simultaneous Interpreting Equipment.”
With all this in mind, there are some things you should be aware of when sourcing third party interpreters.
Always ensure they are qualified Interpreters.
Some interpreters may claim they can undertake Simultaneous Interpretation, but this is not the case. We have seen some "social interpreters" walk out of the booth crying, during the first session, because they cannot cope with the technical nature of Simultaneous Interpretation.
Your event is only as good as the interpreters and the interpretation equipment. To be sure that your event will be a success, qualify your interpreters using references relating to similar events and qualifications.
